Pull the pin and a siren rated 130 dB and a flashing strobe go off straight away. Small enough for your keys or bag, with no app or subscription needed.
Pull the pin. The siren and flashing strobe start straight away.
Get attention. The siren is rated 130 dB, made to turn heads fast.
Push the pin back in. The siren and strobe stop as soon as the pin is back in.
On the Chirpie Link and Link Fusion, if the pin stays out for about 10 seconds, it can also trigger your phone’s Emergency SOS, depending on your phone.
Who carries a Chirpie
Women walking home after dark, students, runners and hikers, travellers, shift workers, and older people living on their own. A Chirpie is a non-violent self defence alarm built to ‘police-approved’ specs: a loud siren, instant activation and a strobe light. It’s legal to carry in every Australian state and territory, needs no permit, and works without an app or subscription.
“I am a single female who often walks alone in the dark so this gives me great peace of mind. Love how the torch and alarm are combined. Very easy to use.”
Cate, Chirpie Infinity
★★★★★
“…it has an ear-piercing alarm which is exactly what I wanted. Purchase and delivery was quick and efficient.”
Kerry, Chirpie
★★★★★
“…it was easy to pair with my phone and charging is a breeze. It is just small enough to use as a key ring.”
Yes. You can carry one in every state and territory with no permit. Pepper spray, by contrast, is restricted or banned in most states.
How loud is 130 dB?
Every Chirpie is rated 130 dB, loud enough to be heard from a long way off and to get people’s attention fast.
Rechargeable or replaceable battery?
The original Chirpie uses two CR2032 coin batteries, with up to a year on standby. The Infinity, Infinity Fusion, Link and Link Fusion charge by USB-C and give up to 90 minutes of alarm on a full charge.
Does it call 000?
The Chirpie, Infinity and Infinity Fusion are standalone alarms and don’t call anyone. The Chirpie Link and Link Fusion can trigger your phone’s built-in Emergency SOS, which can call emergency services and share your location, depending on your phone and its settings.
What’s different about the Fusion models?
On the Infinity Fusion and Link Fusion, the pin stays attached to the alarm, so there’s nothing to drop or lose. On the other models, the pin comes right out.
